The Bosch-87387017370 Element Assembly is the heating core for compatible HVAC water heating units, converting 240-volt input into usable output across three staged wattage levels of 2700W, 4800W, and 5400W so the unit can modulate heat delivery to match demand rather than firing at full load every cycle. Power delivery comes from a multi-turn helical copper tube coil brazed into a cast brass mounting flange, a geometry that puts a large amount of heated surface area in direct contact with flowing water inside a compact bore, giving faster response times and more even heat transfer than a straight-element design while resisting scale buildup and thermal fatigue over long service life. The bolt-pattern flange seats against the unit's heating chamber with a supplied gasket and screw set, and the factory-terminated wire harness arrives pre-fitted with ring and blade terminals in distinct colors so each wattage stage lands on the correct contact during installation, making this a direct drop-in replacement for technicians restoring output on units suffering from element burnout, reduced heat, or inconsistent temperature staging.
