Additional Features:
The Bosch 87472071010 is an outside temperature sensor that mounts on the exterior wall of a building and continuously reports ambient outdoor temperature to a compatible HVAC control, allowing the system to modulate heating or cooling output in response to real weather conditions rather than working from a fixed setpoint. It is supplied as a two-part unit, with the black sensing module already fitted into the white base and a shrouded outer cover that overhangs the module on every side and angles downward at the front, so rain sheds away from the housing and direct sunlight cannot fall on the sensing element and bias the reading. A sealed white cable gland at the underside of the module brings the low-voltage wiring in while keeping moisture and insects out of the enclosure, and the wall plugs and screws included in the box allow the base to be fastened directly to masonry or siding, ideally on a shaded wall clear of windows, dryer vents, and flue terminals where reflected or waste heat would distort the measurement.
