One of the most useful companions - both in the woods and on the job - is a fixed-bade knife slung conveniently from my belt. So I got to work designing a full-tang all-purpose knife featuring a classic 4-inch drop point blade constructed of high-carbon 9Cr13Mov Steel. With a handle built from the layered blade and brown G10, it's virtually indestructible - and after a day gutting big game or working in the elements, the ball-milled, dimple-textured handle cleans up fast and easy. The flat-ground blade is coated with corrosion-resistant titanium nitride and slips safely into the sheath, where the injection-molded nylon liner ensures safe carry right at my side.
