876-5B 4 to 5 ft. length Adjustable, Twin Leg Energy Absorbing Lanyard for Lightweight Users (100 to 200 lbs. including harness and tools) Certified by Sturges Mfg. to the ANSI Z359.13-2013 Standard
The material used in the construction of the energy absorber is nylon.
Twin leg, energy absorbing lanyard designed specifically for lighter weight workers. The shorter lanyard legs provide a higher level of safety for workers by minimizing the free fall exposure during work and movement.
Through the use of new state-of-the-art technology in energy absorbing tear tape, this lanyard meets the ANSI/ASSE Z359.13-2013 standard maximum allowable tear-out elongation of 48 inches for 6 ft. free fall lanyards. The activation force of the energy absorber is approx. 700 lbf. This is a lower than standard activation force that provides for improved reduction of forces on lighter weight users. Recommended user weight 100 to 200 lbs.
The twin lanyard legs are made from heavy-duty, 1 inch, 9800 lbf. webbing, and are adjustable in length from 4 to 5 feet. Made with lightweight, black aluminum hooks. Energy absorber uses Kevlar back-up webbing to reduce bulk. This new the lanyard is designed to be used for both sternal and dorsal harness attachment on Y style harnesses. Aluminum O ring between energy absorber and lanyard legs allow for tie-back use when attached sternally to harness.
- Maximum free fall distance allowed 6 feet. Full activation of lanyard extends energy absorber an additional 48 inches.
- Snap hooks located on energy absorber and legs meet 3600 lbf. (15kN) side load gate strength requirements of ANSI Z359.12-2009 standard
- Certified to meet ANSI/ASSE Z359.12-2009 and ANSI/ASSE Z359.13-2013 standards
- Meets ANSI certification standards for users up to 310 lbs. total weight
